In the dynamic world of the photovoltaic industry, a significant development has emerged. On October 29, market rumors were swirling that LONGi Green Energy would increase the prices of its photovoltaic modules by 1 to 2 cents per watt. This news sent ripples through the market, and as of October 30, LONGi Green Energy has officially confirmed the accuracy of this price increase.

Notably, other leading companies in the photovoltaic sector are also following suit. Trina Solar, JinkoSolar, Tongwei Co., and JA Solar have adjusted their shipping prices upward by 1 to 3 cents per watt. This collective move by the industry's top players indicates a shift in the market dynamics.

Previously, on October 14, the China Photovoltaic Industry Association held a seminar in Shanghai to address the issue of preventing "inward" vicious competition within the industry. Sixteen companies, including LONGi Green Energy and JinkoSolar, participated in this important discussion. Following the meeting, the association's WeChat account published an article titled "Current Cost Analysis of Photovoltaic Modules: Bidding Below Cost May Be Illegal," emphasizing the significance of quality over price for photovoltaic modules that are designed to operate stably for 20 to 25 years.

Industry insiders suggest that the price adjustments by these leading companies are a response to various factors such as changes in market supply and demand, as well as the industry's efforts to move towards a more healthy and sustainable development path. The confirmation of the price increase by LONGi Green Energy is a clear indication that the photovoltaic industry is experiencing a new phase of development, and market participants will be closely watching the subsequent impacts of these price changes on the overall industry.
