Shanghai is taking significant steps towards a greener future. On October 28, the Shanghai Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau and other relevant departments unveiled the "Trial Measures for Managing Shanghai's Green Project Database."

This initiative encompasses greenhouse gas emission control in integrated power source-grid-load-storage systems and multi-energy complementary projects. The goal is to optimize resources on the power generation, grid, and load sides, with the ambition of constructing a highly integrated new power system at various levels, including regional (provincial), municipal (county), or park (residential).

To enhance the absorption capacity of renewable energy, make use of diverse resource combinations, and improve the operational stability of the power system, projects such as wind-solar-storage integration, wind-solar-water (storage) integration, and wind-solar-fire (storage) integration are required to comply with relevant laws, policies, national standards, and local regulations.

This move by Shanghai is seen as a crucial step in promoting green low-carbon development, facilitating ecological technology transformation, and advancing financial development in the city. As Shanghai continues to lead the way in sustainable initiatives, it is expected that other regions will also take note and follow suit in their pursuit of a more environmentally friendly and prosperous future.
