I recently inherited a 20 gallon aquarium filled with 6 female bettas, 2 oto catfish, and a pleco. I refuse to do 2 water changes a week (previous owner did), and so I'm adding a few nitrate loving plants to keep the levels down.
So, I got this plastic webbing to make cut outs to add plants. So far I've got a large, mature peace lily, 2 lucky bamboo, and 2 pothos cuttings. I have a monstera deliciosa, 2 waffle plants, 2 spider plants, and a syngonium vine transitioning to water that'll go in the top, too.
Eventually, it'll look like a very cool jungle uptop and down below as I explore the various aquatic plants. The fish will thoroughly enjoy their more natural and ever changing environment. 😄🪴🐠
As a bonus, it'll keep the betta from jumping to their deaths. Win - win.
