1. Planting area: ranked first in the world. The top three countries/regions in terms of melon planting area in the world are China, Türkiye and India, and the sum of the three countries' melon planting area accounts for 50.01% of the global melon planting area; From a regional distribution perspective, among the top ten countries/regions in terms of global melon cultivation area, there are 5 Asian countries, 2 European countries, 2 North American countries, and 1 African country, which account for 71.94% of the global melon cultivation area. 
2. Muskmelon production: Among the major melon producing countries in the world, China is far ahead in yield with absolute advantage, followed by Türkiye and India. From the perspective of production capacity advantage, China's melon output (13.5415 million tons) is 7.62 times that of Türkiye (1.7771 million tons), ranking second, and 10.70 times that of India (1.266 million tons). 
3. International trade: Spain is the largest exporter and the United States is the largest importer. Spain, Guatemala, and Brazil are the top three countries in terms of global melon exports, while the top three countries in terms of global melon imports are the United States, the Netherlands, and France. China's export volume is much higher than its import volume, with the main export directions being Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
